Fans are over the moon about the mommy-and-me moment from Serena Williams after she posted a rare snap with her newborn daughter, Adira, on social media.
Last week on Instagram, the tennis star, 42, posted a new photo with her baby girl, who she welcomed back in August with husband Alexis Ohanian, 40. In it, Williams is smiling at the camera while holding Adira in her arms, and we can only see the back of the baby’s head.
In the caption, she wrote, “Lashes and a baby,” and tagged the baby’s official Instagram page. When you click the handle, users are taken directly to the newborn’s page with no new posts. But we do get a first glimpse of Adira’s face, which appears amidst a white and blue baby blanket. And the name written on the account reads, “Adira Ohanian.”
Followers of the Gram Slam champ gushed over the mother-daughter duo in the comments section, with one person writing, “Congratulations beautiful Mama!” Another said, “Precious,” alongside numerous red heart emojis. Even Williams’s husband left a sweet comment about his daughter which read, “Little angel.”
This past summer, Ohanian shared the first-ever photo of their newborn on Instagram. In the snap, Ohanian is all smiles while Williams holds baby Adira with their oldest daughter, Olympia, 6, beaming next to them.
“Welcome, Adira River Ohanian,” he began the caption. “I'm grateful to report our house is teaming with love: a happy & healthy newborn girl and happy & healthy mama.”
He continued, “Feeling grateful. @serenawilliams you’ve now given me another incomparable gift — you're the GMOAT. Thanks to all the amazing medical staff who took care of my wife & our daughter [prayer emoji] I'll never forget the moment I introduced @olympiaohanian to her baby sister.”
