It's not often that I get to see Prince Harry and Meghan Markle hit the dance floor, but this past weekend proved to be a rare exception.
First, I saw footage of the royal couple dancing with the Pies de Sol Dance Theatre group at the Delia Zapata Olivella National Arts Center, Colombia (where they were on tour). And now, footage has surfaced of the duke and duchess delivering a rather impressive salsa routine.
In case you missed it, the duo went to Unidad Recreativa El Vallado in Cali, where they engaged with the youth from Jóvenes en Cali and enjoyed a few dance performances. Before long, a few young locals invited the royals to join them on the dance floor—and they definitely didn't disappoint.
One royal fan shared footage of their salsa routine, and judging by their seamless, intimate moves, one would think that Harry and Markle have been dancing salsa all their lives. As seen in the clip, they remain totally in sync as they sway and twirl to the music.
Hundreds of Twitter users complimented the couple on their stellar dancing skills. One person wrote, "They look very happy. And for not being their culture, they dance very well!" Another responded, "What beautiful people, and they have rhythm. They dance tremendously."
The pair also showed off their moves while partnering up with student dancers. In another clip, both are seen moving across the dance floor with ease, complete with some amazing footwork.
A fan commented, "Beautiful, graceful Meghan is a great dancer, speaker and human being. She is amazing at salsa and both show true appreciation for the people and their culture. Harry is enjoying himself and can salsa too."
According to the Sussexes' official website, they got a chance to speak directly with students about what they've achieved through music and dance. Prince Harry also addressed the youth and said, “I hope you understand how much your actions impact the people and children in your communities. The path you’ve chosen will inspire and drive change for hundreds, even thousands, of young people.”
The royals said in a statement, "This visit serves as a reminder of the profound difference that dedicated organizations and compassionate individuals can make in enriching children’s lives and promoting a more equitable and peaceful world."
