When it came time for Jenna Ortega to recreate an iconic look worn by Winona Ryder’s Beetlejuice character Lydia Deetz for the next stop of the sequel’s press tour, the 21-year-old actress understood the assignment.

Earlier this week, Ortega was photographed stepping out in the Big Apple wearing an eye-popping look inspired by a school uniform Deetz wore in the original 1988 film. As she exited a black vehicle, according to People, the Beetlejuice Beetlejuice star can be seen rocking a custom Thom Browne ‘fit that consists of a navy blue cardigan that has Deetz’s school’s emblem embroidered on the breast pocket, a white button-up shirt, a plaid skirt and Mary Janes.

Throughout the press tour, Ortega has been giving us Beetlejuice-core with her gothic looks—and we are so here for it—from her black pinstripe ensemble to her nude tulle dress designed by Vivienne Westwood. See below:

In the new film (which premieres in theaters on September 6), Ortega plays Lydia’s daughter, Astrid. When she stumbles upon The Maitlands (aka the small model town of Winter River) in the attic of the Deetz family home,  she summons Beetlejuice, who is portrayed by Michael Keaton.

In a recent interview with Fandango, Ortega shared what it was like working with Ryder and the rest of the cast. “Obviously joining a sequel to something and it being so long since the original, I think I just wanted to put my head down and do the work and show up and be respectful and read my little book off to the side, but I think Winona was so warm and so welcoming, as was Catherine [O’Hara], as was everybody else, that you almost didn’t have a choice but to become a part of the family, which I’m so grateful for,” she explained.

Forget “Demure Fall,” we are fully embracing Beetlejuice-core for this upcoming season.
