What Is ‘Cowboy Core?’
Since the announcement of the star’s album, there’s been a recent uptick in searches for cowboy-related fashion, which fans on the internet have now dubbed the trend as ‘cowboy core.’ In recent Instagram posts, the singer has worn multiple cowboy-inspired pieces, including cowboy hats, bolo ties and more. Per fashion experts at Boohoo, searches for bolo ties were up 566 percent, cowboy hats 212.5 percent and boots 163 percent. Other Cowboy Core staples to try include fringe accents, raw denim, suede and belts adorned with oversized (often glitzy) buckles.
This isn’t the first time the Houston native had the world in a frenzy over the Western aesthetic. Last year, during her groundbreaking Renaissance Tour, tons of concertgoers donned silver cowboy hats and boots. Now, in 2024, it’s full-on cowgirl chic, and knowing what we know about the singer, it’s best to stay prepared for anything, including surprise tour dates. 1. Cowboy Hats
While often used as a kitschy accessory for themed parties or concerts (if you’re not a true Westerner), cowboy hats can be a super chic addition to your day-to-day wardrobe. It’s about finding the right hat (think: neutral colors and minimal embellishments) and styling it in a way that doesn’t scream ‘costume.’ Try it out with a dainty button-down blouse and denim skirt or with a flowy sundress.

2. Bolo Ties
Instead of a necklace or choker this season, opt for a bolo tie. We think wearing it with more dressed-up pieces like a crisp button-down and structured skirt (as shown above) is probably the best approach for this statement piece.
