The 8 Best Strapless Bras for Big Boobs, Vetted and Tested by Editors

I haven’t worn a strapless bra since prom…12 years ago. As someone with a large bust, I’ve always had a hard time finding a strapless bra that lifts and supports the girls, while being comfortable enough to wear all day. So instead, I’ve resorted to using nipple pasties and suffering underboob sweat—or I go braless (depending on the shirt, of course). It turns out a few of my colleagues have also had trouble finding a strapless bra that fits their big boobs, so I reached out to Mila Sojanovic, a bra expert and business manager at Bravissimo for some help.  

Mila Stojanovic is a bra fit expert and brand manager at Bravissimo with over eight years of experience. She specializes in helping women find comfortable bras, especially those with big boobs. She also has a background in marketing and a bachelor’s degree in advertising from the University of West London.

Many of us are quick to discard a bra if it doesn’t fit on the first try. However, Stojanovic wants us to give it another shot and not lose hope just yet. “It’s always important to adjust yourself into the bra (at any size and in every style of bra). Sometimes it looks like the bra doesn’t fit, but you just need to make a few adjustments. For starters, you want to check that the wire sits underneath your boobs, right against your chest. Have a little wiggle to get yourself into the bra,” she suggests.

First, I went through Reddit, Instagram and TikTok to find the most popular strapless bras for big boobs. I also looked through countless reviews on Amazon, Nordstrom and Target. From there, I tapped my fellow busty editors to test a few strapless bras for a month. While testing, we followed our PureWow100 criteria, which analyzes the value, quality and comfort of each bra. • Support: As a large busted girlie, I’m all about support and our bra expert agrees. “Comfort is key in my book. If you’re feeling unsupported by your strapless, it can ruin the vibe and the outfit! Once you’re feeling good with the foundations of your outfit, the rest will flow! You can feel assured you’re not going to spill out and that you’re uplifted,” says Stojanovic.
• Thick Band: According to Stojanovic, you’ll want to stay away from unlined bras and choose a strapless bra with a thicker band. “By being a little thicker, the [strapless bra] can support you better. Without that, it would be like wearing an unlined bra, cutting the straps off and expecting it to still hold you up,” she adds. 
• Cup Size: “Similar principle to wearing the correct shoe size/style for your feet. The cup and band size work together to get you a great fit. I recommend going to a store or having a virtual fitting with a bra expert to find the perfect fit,” says Stojanovic. 
• Clasps: Most bras have three hook and eye clasps; however, bras for larger busts might have four rows for a more secure fit. Fashion tip: “I recommend wearing your bras on the loosest (last) hooks, as that’s the original measurement of the bra. Then, as you wear the bra in and it loosens over time, you can get it feeling like when you first got it by adjusting it to the middle hooks, and so forth,” she shares.  
• Style: It’s not just about choosing a strapless bra you fancy. As Stojanovic explains, “I advise that you figure out which style would best suit your outfits. [Ask yourself,] Which one would you get more wear out of? Do you mind the seams on the bra? Does your outfit require it to be a smooth strapless bra? What kind of necklines do you like plunging vs straight across?”
